A delicious cake inspired by the flavors of apple cider donuts, perfect for fall.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup apple cider
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and apple cider to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Reduce apple cider for a stronger flavor by simmering it to 1/2 cup.
- Dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar for extra sweetness.
