Ingredients

  • 2 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crust (or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp butter, cubed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix apples, cranberries, sugars, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
  4. Pour the filling into the crust and dot with butter.
  5. Cover with the second crust, seal edges, and cut slits for venting.
  6. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith for better texture.
  • If cranberries are too tart, increase sugar slightly.
