- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
You can add nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips for extra flavor and texture. Store leftovers wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
