Description

Cherry cheesecake hand pies are a delightful treat that combines the tangy flavor of cherries with creamy cheesecake, all encased in a flaky, golden crust. Perfect for any occasion, these hand pies are a sweet reminder of the warmth and comfort of home.

Ingredients

Scale

1 package of refrigerated pie crusts

1 cup of cherry pie filling

4 ounces of cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup of granulated sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. Roll out the refrigerated pie crusts on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.

2. In a mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

3. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each dough circle, followed by a dollop of cherry pie filling.

4. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges with a fork.

5. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.

6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

Chill the dough for a few minutes if it becomes too soft to handle.

Use a cookie cutter to create uniform circles for the pies.

Ensure the edges are sealed well to prevent leaks.

For extra flair, sprinkle a bit of sugar on top before baking.
