Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8-inch cake pan.
- Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the batter.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely.
- Mix pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger in a bowl.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and spiced pumpkin mixture.
- Frost the cooled cake and serve.
