Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion, carrots, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and peas. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish.
  6. Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top.
  7. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
