Description
A creamy, refreshing tropical dessert made with frozen pineapple, perfect for summer days. Just like the one from the theme park, but homemade!
Ingredients
Scale
Dole Whip Base
- 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1/3 cup vanilla ice cream (or dairy-free alternative)
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
- salt (a tiny pinch)
Instructions
- Ensure your pineapple chunks are fully frozen. If using fresh pineapple, freeze for at least 2–3 hours beforehand.
- In a high-powered blender or food processor, combine frozen pineapple, pineapple juice, vanilla ice cream, lemon juice, and salt.
- Blend until creamy and smooth. Stop to scrape the sides if needed. Add more juice if the mixture is too thick.
- Spoon into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and swirl into a bowl or cone. Or scoop directly into a dish.
- Serve immediately for the best soft-serve texture and flavor.
Notes
For a vegan version, use non-dairy ice cream. You can also freeze the whipped mixture for 20–30 minutes after blending for a firmer texture.
