Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 6 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.
  3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, cream, egg, and vanilla.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  6. Shape dough into a 7-inch circle on the baking sheet, then cut into 8 wedges.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Let cool.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and pumpkin pie spice for the glaze.
  9. Drizzle glaze over cooled scones and serve.
