- 1 tbsp baking powder

- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 6 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, cream, egg, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Shape dough into a 7-inch circle on the baking sheet, then cut into 8 wedges.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Let cool.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and pumpkin pie spice for the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled scones and serve.
Notes
- Use cold butter for flaky scones.
- Do not overmix the dough.
