Mini Shepherd’s Pies are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main dish. These individual pies feature a savory meat filling topped with creamy mashed potatoes.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brown the meat in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion, carrot, and garlic. Cook until vegetables soften.
- Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon the meat mixture into individual ramekins or muffin tins.
- Top with mashed potatoes and sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can use leftover mashed potatoes.
- For a crispier top, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end.
- Make ahead by assembling and refrigerating before baking.
