Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Alternately add flour mixture and milk, mixing until smooth.
  5. Spread melted butter in the cake pan, sprinkle brown sugar, then pecans.
  6. Pour batter over the pecan layer and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate.
