Description
Refreshing Cherry Sangria is a delightful summer drink that combines the sweetness of cherries with the richness of red wine and a hint of citrus, perfect for any sunny occasion.
Ingredients
2 cups of fresh cherries, pitted and halved
1 bottle of red wine (a fruity variety works best)
1/4 cup of brandy
1/4 cup of orange liqueur
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
2 tablespoons of sugar (optional, for added sweetness)
1 cup of sparkling water or club soda
Instructions
1. Start by selecting the plumpest, juiciest cherries you can find. Pit and halve them.
2. In a large pitcher, combine the cherries, wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and sliced citrus fruits. Stir gently.
3. Taste and adjust sweetness with sugar or tanginess with extra lemon juice as desired.
4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
5. Before serving, add sparkling water or club soda for a refreshing fizz.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, substitute wine and spirits with grape juice and a splash of cherry juice.
Frozen cherries can be used when fresh ones are not available, just thaw them before use.
Store sangria in the fridge for up to three days, but it’s best enjoyed within the first 24 hours.
