Description

Decadent, fudgy chocolate brownies with a smoky chipotle twist. A rich, spicy-sweet dessert that’s anything but ordinary!

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 4 eggs (large)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp chipotle chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter and both sugars until glossy.
  3. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, chipotle powder, and salt. Fold gently until just combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips if using, and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool completely before slicing into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

Start with 1/2 tsp chipotle for mild spice. For a more intense kick, go up to 1 tsp. These freeze beautifully!
