Ingredients
  

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  • Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

You can add nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips for extra flavor and texture. Store leftovers wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
